Help with Fall Recruitment!

Hello Delta G's!

As the fall approaches, the Collegiate girls are anxiously at work planning recruitment. Courtney Lee and Priscila Driggs are the advisors and they need some help. These are the things they need:

1. Sponsorship forms! You can send them to 1558 Princeton Ave. SLC Utah 84105 by August 13th. Download them HERE by logging into MYDG.

2. 15 volunteers to help Chloee Drews with the recruitment workshop on Saturday, August 20th from 11:30 am-1 pm.
3. 8 people on Saturday, August 27th, to help with chip voting in the basement. 2-6:30pm.
4. 8 people on Monday, August 29th, also to help with chip voting. 3:00-8:00pm.
5. Dinner for the girls on Monday, August 29th, at 7:50pm. Appox 60 girls.

DG Gardening Day!

Hi everyone!

We are holding a quick gardening day this Saturday, June 25th, from 10 am - 2 pm

so that the house looks warm and welcoming come recruitment time.

We would love to have your help!

We will be planting flower pots and sprucing up the yard.

If you can come, please bring your gardening tools and gloves if you have them.

We’d love to have you for just an hour or two,

or even stop by to see the house if you haven’t been in awhile.

A light lunch will be served around noon.

Founder's Day Update

Hi Ladies! Some of you may know that we are postponing Founder's Day. Many were out of town or busy with the LDS General Conference, and an array of other things. We want to try and have as many of us there to celebrate this great occasion! So, we will be holding it later this summer and will do a fabulous combined collegiate/alum event closer to recruitment. Calling all DG Alum! One of our fabulous Alumni DG's, Shannon Spencer, is placing an order in spirit of Founders Day for darling alumni sweatshirts. They are super comfy and bonus, they are U of U colors! She has already received interest from a few girls and wanted to see if anyone else would like one. DG's In Business {Flight Boutique}

Welcome to the new DG's in Business section of the blog. Each month we willl highlight Delta Gamma Alumnae and their businesses, in hopes to raise awareness of what our amazing sisters are doing, and to give us all an opportunity to support one another. For our very first DG's in Business post, I am thrilled to be able to write about my dear friend and pledge sister Blaire Hayes, and her amazing business, Flight Boutique. Blaire was born and raised in Park City, Utah and attended Park City High. She initiated into Delta Gamma in 2001 at the University of Utah and was an active four year member. After graduating with a degree in Business, she headed to New York City where she worked as a fashion stylist for celebrites as well as magazines such as Vogue and W. In 2008, she moved back to Park City and began working on her life long dream of owning her own boutique with dear friend and fellow Park City native, Kristen Moss. Their dreams became a reality when their doors opened in November of 2009. "We decided to come back and open a store in Park City, first, because we love our hometown and have a lot of support here, and second because we felt there was a void that needed to be filled" says Hayes.

The racks at Flight are filled with a variety of beautiful styles from an array of designers including Elizabeth & James, LaRok and Cynthia Vincent on the first floor, and more moderately-priced items from designers like BB Dakota and Jack on the second floor. Upstairs has sale items and dressing rooms and everything is under $100, with most items priced around $35. Another awesome feature at their store is the beautiful graphic wall paper of white and black trees that was imported from Europe. It serves as a great backdrop to these stylish clothes. Next time you are in Park City, make sure to stop by and shop a bit at Flight Boutique. But know that they are always getting new clothes in so you won't see the same stuff each time, so stop by often. If you mention that you are a Delta Gamma in the month of March, you will receive a 15% discount!

Founders Day Date Change!

We have changed the date of Founders Day to April 2nd and will be held at the Delta Gamma house this year! The program will begin at 7 pm and we'll be opening up the house to any invited lady, member or no at 7:30 pm for a mocktail party celebrating Delta Gamma and our history. You are able to bring women family members, future potential new members and even curious friends! We'll be doing house tours, telling history, and doing all kinds of fun and exciting things. AND, our alumni will get to see all the changes made to the house over the years. The theme is "Journey Through the Years" and is $25 per ticket. We will have giveaway bags with items from DG's that have their own businesses, and we are doing a live auction for a few bigger items. Can't wait to see you all there!

Calling All DG Alum Business Owners!!!

Hi Ladies,
We know that there are many of you out there that own your own business, and we would like to give you the opportunity to let all your fellow alum know about it! There are two different opportunities that I want to tell you about:

1. We would like to start doing a monthly or bi-monthly spotlight an alum and their businesses. This is a great way for you to get the word out about your business, and for us to be able to be your customers! I am more likely to shop somewhere if I know that it benefits someone I know. So, if you are interested in being apart of this, please send me all of your company contact information, a brief bio of yourself, any pictures that you would like included, and a brief wrtie up about what your company is and the services or products it provides. Then we will post your information for at least 2 weeks on our blog and tout it on Facebook as well.

2. For Founder's Day, we are doing things a bit different this year, and it is going to be awesome!!! You will find out more about that in another email soon. But, for the event we are going to be giving out gift bags to all the ladies that attend...both alumnae and collegiates. We would like to include any giveaways that you or your company might be willing to include in these bags. Or you can provide coupons to be included in the bags as well. Either would be great .Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in and what you would like to provide for the gift bags. We are excited to get this started, and to learn all about what you wonderful ladies are doing! We would like to get this going next month if possible, so please send me your information soon.
